今年もこのブログをお読み頂きありがとうございました。
昨年末のこのブログで「来年は、職務発明の規定が改正されるでしょう」と述べましたが、予想通り改正されました。
それに加え、来年は特許翻訳のイベント続きです。
1月22日には、「パテントサロン」の特許翻訳者のためのオフ会

11月には、
American Translators Association (ATA)(全米翻訳者協会)

のannual conference が11/2〜5にサンフランシスコで開催されます。
ATAのannual conferenceはその名の通り毎年行われていますが、来年は私も出席予定です。
また1月には特許庁主催の「グローバル知財戦略フォーラム 2016」が行われます。

ここではIoTが一つの主なテーマとなります。IoT(Internet of Things)はその名の通り、thingsをインターネットに接続することです。
パソコン、スマホが通信できることはもちろんですが、器具、計測手段などあらゆるもの、今目の前にあるあらゆるものをインターネットに接続して、情報を送受信することです。
このようなIoT時代の知財戦略がこのフォーラムのテーマになります。
私が特に注目したいのが、1/25のパネルディスカッション、

「グローバル知財人材の素養〜海外で通用する交渉能力育成〜」

です。IoTはますますインターネット化に通じますが、それはface to faceの交渉とは遠ざかる印象を受けます。
しかし交渉能力を高めることもこのフォーラムでテーマになっており、翻訳者も交渉能力が必要になります。「インターネット化」「国際化」「交渉能力」「海外で渡り合える」という当たり前のビジネススキルが改めて見直されている気がします。
職務発明が改正され、IoT時代がますます発展する2016年も知財にとってはますます面白い時代になります。

In my blog at the end of last year, I expected that “the provision of employees' inventions will be amended next year", and it was actually amended as expected.
Additionally, many events regarding Intellectual Property and translation will be held next year.
On January 22, an offline meeting for patent translators will be held by “Patent Salon"(http://cytech.way-nifty.com/blog/2015/12/for-2016-db18.html).
On November 2 to 5, an annual conference of the American Translators Association (ATA) will be held in San Francisco

which I will attend.
As the name “an annual meeting" indicates, this conference has been held every year.
JPO will hold the “Global Intellectual Property Strategy Forum 2016"

in which IoT is one of the main themes.
IoT (Internet of Things) means connecting “things" to the Internet.
PCs and smart phones can, of course, transmit over the Internet, and additionally other instruments and measurement means and other things around us will be connected to the Internet to transmit/receive information.
The Intellectual Property strategy in such an IoT age is one of the themes of this forum.
I especially took note of a panel discussion in this forum titled
“Knowledge of global Intellectual Property human resources
-Growing negotiating ability available in the world-",
which will be held on January 25.

IoT can lead to greater usage of the Internet, which appears too far away from face-to-face negotiations.
However, improving negotiation abilities is also a theme of this forum. Translators will also be required to have negotiation skills.
Everyday business abilities such as “more usage of the Internet", “internationalization", “negotiation abilities", and “getting along in the world", etc., appear to be being reviewed again today.
The year 2016, when the provision of employees' inventions will be effective and the IoT age will be more developed, will be more interesting regarding Intellectual Property.
