12歳の少女、神谷明日香さんが特許を取ったと話題になっています。
発明の名称は「空き缶分別箱」です。磁石を使って、アルミ缶とスチール缶を簡単な操作(缶を投入するのみ)で分別できます。

アルミ缶は磁石に引き寄せられず、スチール缶は磁石に引き寄せられる、という原理をこの発明は利用しています。
投入口からスチール缶を入れると、壁面で覆われた磁石に引き寄せられるが、磁石は壁面が被さっているため、磁石には吸着せず、下垂シート片(以下の図2では4)を押して、分離壁(以下の図2では5)を越えて9S室に落下します。
これに対しアルミ缶は磁石に引き寄せられず9A室に落下します。

このような発明こそ、自然法則を利用した技術的思想であり、しかも卓越した身近に役立つ発明です。しかもお祖父さんへの優しさから生まれた発明だそうで、癒される発明です。

A twelve-year-old girl, Asuka Kamiya, obtained a patent, the title of which is “a box for segregating empty cans" for segregating aluminum cans and steel cans using a magnet with a simple operation (only inserting cans) has been drawing attention.

This invention utilizes the principle that aluminum is not attracted to a magnet, while steel is attracted to a magnet.
A steel can inserted into a slot is attracted to a magnet covered with a wall but not completely attracted thereto because the wall covers the magnet, and then pushes a pendent sheet strip (“4" in Fig. 2 as shown below) and drops to “9S" section beyond a separation wall (“5" in Fig. 2).
On the other hand, an aluminum can is not attracted to the magnet and then drops to “9A" section.

Such an invention is an excellent, accessible and useful technical idea utilizing natural laws. Reportedly, her kindness to her grandfather motivated the creation of this invention, which comforts all of us.
