「パクる」ということばがあります。知財の世界ではよく使われます。「真似する」という意味ですが、これが広がって様々な意味に使われています。
子どもたちの間では、お気に入りの文房具を真似され、友達が同じ文房具を買って来ただけで「パクられた」というようです。しかしこれは当然何の問題もなく、広い意味で「真似する」という意味で使っているだけです。
英語で何というか調べてみました。
知財では「模倣する」は"imitate"であり、Weblio英和・和英辞典では、「人のアイデアをパクる」ことは、"steal an idea"であると出ています(http://ejje.weblio.jp/content/人のアイデアをパクる)。
ドラマのあらすじが似ていることも「パクリ」といわれることがありますが、著作権はアイデアを保護しないので、これも原則として著作権侵害ではありません。

There is a Japanese word, "パクる", pronounced "pakuru", which is often used in the Intellectual Property world. It means "imitate" but is used in many scenarios.

If a storyline of one drama is similar to that of other drama, this is often described as "パクリ (Pakuri)", but this does not constitute an infringement of copyright in principle because the copyright does not protect an idea.
