昨日、家族で「くら寿司」に行きました。店に入るといきなり正面には「特許証」が掲げられてあり、この回転寿司のシステムの特許を取ってあるのかなと思いました。

席に着いてすぐに感動したのは、回ってきた寿司を取る際のシステムです。まず回っている寿司にはすべて蓋が被せてあります。そして寿司を選んで取る際には、寿司の載った皿を持ち上げると蓋が開き、皿を取り出します。蓋は外れずにコンベヤで運ばれていきます。

家に帰ってJ-PlatPat(特許庁、独立行政法人工業所有権情報・研修館(https://www.j-platpat.inpit.go.jp/web/all/top/BTmTopPage)で検索すると、「(株)くらコーポレーション」名義で80件以上も特許出願されています。

私が感動したこの寿司移送システムの容器が特許されています(第5,416,288号)。

「飲食物搬送用収容体」という発明の名称です。
請求項1では、
飲食物(寿司)を盛った皿を載せる「載置部」のある「載置台」
開閉可能な「蓋体」
蓋の「開閉機構」
を備えていることが記載されています。

開閉機構により、寿司を取り出すと蓋が開くという正に私が体験した動作が請求項1に記載されています。
また、皿を載せる際には、蓋が開くことも記載されており、客からは見えませんが、厨房では寿司職人が寿司を盛った皿を載置部に載せる際に蓋が閉じるようになっていることもこの特許からわかりました。

この特許出願件数から、くら寿司の特許にかける思いが伝わってきます。

I went to a Kurasushi restaurant with my family yesterday, and as soon as I entered the shop, a patent certificate on the front wall caught my eye. I wondered if this conveyor belt sushi bar system was patented or not.

I sat at the table and was immediately impressed with the system for customers to take sushi that travels around on a conveyor. All the revolving plates of sushi are covered with transparent lids. When a customer selects and takes a plate of sushi, he/she need only raise the plate to open the lid. The lid does not come off and is instead carried down the conveyor.

I searched for this company's patent applications on J-PlatPat (JPO and National Center for Industrial Property Information and Training, https://www.j-platpat.inpit.go.jp/web/all/top/BTmTopPage) and found that more than 80 patent applications were filed by Kura Corporation Co., Ltd.

The container for this impressive sushi conveying system has been patented (No. 5,416,288).

The title of this invention is “A container for conveying food and drink".
Claim 1 recites that:
“A placing table" having a “carrying part" on which plates with food and drink (sushi) are placed;
An openable “lid"; and
“An opening and closing mechanism" for the lid
are provided.

The action for opening the lid when a plate of sushi is taken via the opening and closing mechanism—which I actually experienced—is recited in Claim 1.
Claim 1 also recites that the lid closes when a plate is placed on it, from which I understood that the lid will close when a sushi chef in the kitchen places a plate with sushi on the carrying part, although this cannot be seen by the customers.

I can feel Kurasushi's enthusiasm about patents from the large number of their patent applications.
