特許業界には、弁理士や特許実務者に役立つツールを開発してくれる人がいます。私の翻訳仲間であり、プログラマーである新田順也氏はその一人です。
Microsoft Word MVPを2011年から毎年受賞されている方です。
新田氏はこれまで多くのWordマクロを開発してきました。そして最近「ベリーベンリなマクロ集」を無料で公開してくれました。特許の仕事、翻訳に役立つマクロを数多く集積したものです。

そのうち2つを今日はご紹介します。

「明細書の段落番号を連番にするマクロ」

このように段落番号がバラバラの明細書を、[段落番号_連続番号_JP]をクリックすると、

のようになりました。段落番号に緑のマーカーも引いてくれます。

「図面の簡単な説明」を書きだすマクロ

次は、明細書の「図1は〜、図2は〜」という文章を拾って、「図面の簡単な説明」を作成してくれるマクロです。
以下のように、 [図面の簡単な説明]をクリックすることにより、図面の簡単な説明の文章(赤字)が作成されました。

In the patent industry, some people develop useful tools for patent attorneys and patent practitioners. My colleague Mr. Junya Nitta is a programmer, and he makes such tools. He has been awarded the Microsoft Word MVP Award every year since 2011.

Mr. Nitta has developed many Word macros. He recently published the “Very Convenient Macro Collection", a free compendium of many macros useful for patent practice and translation.

Today, I will introduce two of them.

“Macro for arranging specification paragraph numbers in a sequential order"

Clicking [Paragraph Number_Serial Number_JP] will arrange non-sequential paragraph numbers in a sequential order and mark them in green.

Macro for extracting a “Brief Description of Drawings"

The next macro extracts sentences containing “Fig. 1 is…", “Fig. 2 is…", etc., and generates a “Brief Description of Drawings".
Sentences in red have been added by clicking [Brief Description of Drawings].
