五大特許庁にされた出願件数の推移(2015〜2017年)を見てみると、以下の通りです。

このように、日本特許庁にされた出願件数は40万件を下回っているどころから、約 31.8万件で推移しています。40万件を超えていた時代と比べるとかなり落ち込んでいます。
中国特許庁が独り勝ちという状態です。

このように特許出願件数が伸びない状態では、特許に対する人々の関心も薄れ、ひいては私たち特許実務者、翻訳者に仕事にも影響します。

私自身が特許制度を啓蒙しようと思っていたところ、特許庁から「とっきょ」という広報誌のサイトがオープンされました。

的財産を広めるという目的とのことです。

これまでも広報誌「とっきょ」は電子および冊子で配布されてきたそうですが、成功事例などを通して知財をわかりやすく伝えています。

知財立国の名にふさわしく、日本における知財を今後も盛り上げていきたいです。

The number of applications filed with the JPO has been below 400 thousand during this period, or precisely about 318 thousand. This is a remarkable drop from when the number exceeded 400 thousand in the past. Among the IP5, SIPO (China) has been the sole winner.

Under such circumstances where the number of applications has not increased, people's interest in patents have naturally declined, which has come to affect our patent and translation works.

Just as I was thinking on how to enlighten the patent system, the JPO opened a site for its public relations magazine “Patents" (Tokkyo in Japanese), which aims to spread knowledge of Intellectual Property to people.

Reportedly, this magazine has been delivered both electronically and as a booklet, and informs people about Intellectual Property through successful cases, etc., in an easy-to-understand way.

I want to boost Intellectual Property in Japan, such that it is deserving of the name “Intellectual Property-oriented nation".
