AI(Artificial Intelligence)による特許審査が現実のものとなりそうです。
特許庁ウエブサイトに「IP Samurai®」という特許審査シミュレーションシステムが紹介されています。

(株)AI Samuraiが開発する「IP Samurai®」というAIによる特許審査シミュレーションシステムの無料版利用者が500人を超えたことが発表されました。
AIによる特許審査はいずれ実現するだろうと思っていましたが、こんなに早くとは思っていませんでした。
発明をどのように入力するかというと、アイディアまたはクレームの文章を入力します。その結果、AIにより国際特許分類が付与され、引用文献と一致している点が挙げられ、特許可能性が4段階(A～Dランク)で判定されます。クレームチャートが作成されたり(無料版)、有料版ではさらに無効、侵害の調査まで行ってくれます。
特許の審査ですらAIが行えるのですから、ことばの置き換えである特許翻訳がAIにとって代わられるのは全く不思議はありません。

The developer, AI Samurai Inc., announced in which it was released that this system has been employed by more than 500 users.

I expected that AI patent examination would be possible one day in the future, but I never dreamed that day would come so soon.

So, how do we input inventions to be searched? We can input ideas or claim sentences. This system then uses AI to assign International Patent Classification (IPC), list commonality with cited documents, and determine four-rank patentability (Ranks A–D); it also prepares claim charts in the free version and conducts invalidity or infringement searches in the paid version.

Now that even patent examinations can be conducted using AI, it’s no wonder to think that AI may eventually replace human-based patent translation.
