キッザニア(東京都江東区)で弁理士ウイークが開催されます。
子どもの職業体験ができる空間であるキッザニアでは、3月19日～25日に「特許事務所」パビリオンが設けられ、子供たちが弁理士の仕事を体験できます。
弁理士(子供たち)はキッザニア内の「発明工房」パビリオンから特許出願の依頼を受け、特許出願書類を作成して、特許出願します。そしてキッザニア内の特許庁(特許庁サテライトオフィス)で審査を受け、特許が発行され、その特許証を持ち帰ることができます。
私たち大人が知財の知識がないために知らないうちに特許侵害や著作権侵害をしてしまう事件をこのブログでも紹介してきました。
全国の学校では現在、知財教育が行われ始めていますが、授業を聴くだけでなく、実際に弁理士として子供が仕事をするという機会は得難いものです。
自分が仕事をしてみて初めて、仕事の内容がよくわかります。ぜひ、著作権や商標権の案件もキッザニアの「特許事務所」パビリオンで扱えるようにしてほしいです。

Patent Attorney Week will be held at KidZania (Koto-ku, Tokyo).

KidZania is a space where children can experience various jobs, and from March 19 to 25 it will include a Patent Office pavilion, which will give children the chance to work as patent attorneys.

Patent attorneys (the participating children) will receive a request for a patent application from the Invention Workshop pavilion in KidZania, prepare patent application documents, and file the patent application. The patent application will then be examined by the Patent Office (Patent Office Satellite Office) in KidZania, with a patent being issued. Children can then take the patent certificate home with them.

I have introduced incidents in this blog where even we as adults unknowingly infringe on patent rights and copyrights due to our lack of knowledge regarding intellectual property.

Schools all over the country are now starting to provide education on intellectual property, however it is difficult for children to find opportunities to not only take classes, but to actually work as a patent attorney.

You cannot really understand what a job entails until you do the work yourself. I hope that copyright and trademark cases will also be handled at the KidZania Patent Office Pavilion.
